This project never really took off due to some organization issues. If a developer is willing to take charge and make something happen, by all means let me know!

Not to mention someone who wanted to ‘help’ hijacked the .com domain.

Due to the whole hijacking thing, we are moving to OpenAndroidAlliance.org within the next 24 hours. User ttabbal has generously provided the domain and is ready to manage our team.

In the mobile browser wars, Webkit-based browsers seem to be pulling away from the pack. Don’t count Firefox out yet, though, because the CEO of Mozilla says that Firefox has put together “the most advanced mobile browser,” and it’s due to hit Android phones soon. Fennec, the mobile version of Firefox, is based on Firefox 3.6, which is a generation ahead of the current desktop version of Firefox. As CEO John Lilly told Om Malik of GigaOM, this browser does “everything – Javascript, CSS, Flash, SVG, video and audio.”

Like the desktop version of Firefox, the mobile version uses the AwesomeBar, which provides quick access to bookmarks and browser history, right from the address bar. Mozilla also plans to support add-ons for Firefox’s mobile version, which would make it the first mobile browser to do so. Add-ons might be the sole factor keeping Firefox competitive on the desktop. In the mobile space, they’d give it an edge. Along with Android, Mozilla is also developing for Nokia’s Maemo OS, which isn’t too widespread in the US, but is growing in global popularity.

I am not sure exactly what happened. I am still trying to figure out.

The site was hosted on akapoor’s hosting, seeing how he bought the domain. But now I am moving it back to my hosting due to someone deleting all my accounts and trying to remove me from this project. So the domain should work in a day or two.

We are now working hand in hand with the devs from the Replicant project. Together we cover a wider range of subjects and already have an almost barebone rom to work with. Expect more info in the coming days.

I have just spent the past 4 hours working on the site and already around 30 members on the forums. I am excited to see what we can create!

Thanks to XDA, Cyanogen, and the entire Android community we can create something awesome. Just wait and see.

Again I would like to thank everyone for getting this project off the ground.

My name is Cody, I love Google but development and progress even more. That is why I have decided along with XDA member Doooshty and everyone else who has gotten us this far to take this project to the top. I welcome everyone to do their part and I will assign heads to each department with input and recommendations from the community. We have some well respected names and some rising names helping with the project. We will use this site to document progress.
